Ethan Ostrow is a Minneapolis-based pianist, composer, and singer. A recent transplant from New York City, Ethan has quickly established himself in Minnesota, performing and recording with the Snapped Open Mic band, Ashley DuBose, Adam Bohanan, Omar Abdulkarim, Kathleen Johnson, Abinnet Berhanu, Dakota Andersen, Leslie Vincent, Toussaint Morrison, the Twin Cities Latin Jazz Orchestra,  Sunshine & the Nightwalkers, Pete Enblom, and more at venues such as The Dakota, Crooner's Supper Club, the Cedar Cultural Center, The Green Room, Aster House, and Berlin. Ethan has performed extensively across the US; and abroad in Havana and Tokyo. His time in NYC included performances at Birdland, Dizzy’s, Chelsea Table & Stage, Nublu, and Rockwood Music Hall with musicians such as Dayna Stephens, Kellin Hanas, and Nick Marziani.

Ethan's original music ranges from soaring melodies over head-banging grooves, to powerful reflective ballads, drawing influence from Jazz, Rock, Funk and Folk. Ethan's compositions are “dynamic, passionate, and gorgeous” (East Bay Express), and feature in the 2024 debut album from his band, The Outside In.

Ethan is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, having been mentored by Stefon Harris, Ingrid Jensen, Jaleel Shaw, Phil Markowitz, and Jeremy Manasia. He has also studied and played with Minneapolis stalwarts Phil Hey (Dewey Redman) and Dean Sorenson (Glenn Miller Orchestra, Frank Sinatra); as well as legendary Bay Area pianist Susan Muscarella, and Max Cowan (Otis McDonald, Atta Kid)
